Legacy Motor Club has made the switch to Toyota in NASCAR’s Cup Series. While he says the team is on a steep learning curve, TRD president David Wilson believes Matt Kenseth, Legacy’s new competition advisor, will help drivers Erik Jones and John Hunter Nemechek.

“I just saw Matt Kenseth at the Hall of Fame function last week, Matt’s back.

“You know, his is not an honorary deal. He’s in the shop, he’s going to be in the competition meetings.

“You remember Matt, and my stories about him being the adult in the room, holding drivers accountable.

“He’s going to be critical, I believe, to the development and the success of both Erik and John Hunter, and that’s awesome.

“Plus, he’s just a good dude and he’s a good friend of Toyota.”
